Where's Charley?

It was actually done at Encores around 2011, directed by John Doyle. Didn't see it but I believe it was a straightforward (concert) revival without any Doyle gimmicks. It starred Howard McGillin, Rebecca Luker and Rob McClure as Charley, in what I think was a breakout role for him.

I did see the Raul Julia Where's Charley? at Circle-in-the-Square in the 70s but don't recall loving the show much, in spite of great reviews. Perhaps it's why I chose to miss it at Encores.

It seems to have been a continuing tradition, going back to the original star Ray Bolger, to cast the men much older than college age. It might be fun to see it now with talented 20-somethings as the leads.
